Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Endoscopic sinus surgery is done for patients with chronic sinusitis or polyps in the nose and paranasal sinuses.

It may be also performed in other cases such as mucoceles, osteomas, certain tumors in the nose (e.g. angiofibromas, inverted papillomas, etc) and fungal infections involving the nose and sinuses.

The procedure is done intranasally and does not involve any external incisions. A post-surgery hospital stay of 48 hours is usually required if nasal packs are placed. The patient is discharged after pack removal. The surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia, but can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation in cases where the disease is not extensive.

Tympanoplasty is a procedure done for repairing a perforation in the ear drum with or without restoration of the middle ear hearing apparatus (ossiculoplasty). This is done under local anesthesia with sedation in the adult patient and under general anesthesia in children. It can be performed via a small incision behind the ear or sometimes in the ear canal itself. This can be done as a day care procedure.
